ReFind Space

ReFind Space, a local furniture resell business in Kingston, MA, focuses on giving secondhand pieces a fresh start. In establishing a broader online presence, I designed and developed their landing page to reflect the brand’s sustainable values and help connect with the local community. This project let me bring together my skills in branding, UX design, and front-end development — from the first sketch all the way to a live website.

Overview

Setting the foundation

The goal was to design a welcoming, easy-to-navigate site that communicates ReFind Space’s mission and makes it simple for visitors to locate new furniture listings. I wanted the site to feel modern, approachable, and aligned with the brand’s focus on sustainability.

I began by developing a brand guide to set the visual direction for ReFind Space. I focused on creating a look that felt fresh, friendly, and eco-conscious - using soft, natural colors, clean typography, and a simple logo that reflects the idea of giving old furniture new life. This foundation helped keep the design consistent and aligned with the brand’s values throughout the project.

Low and High Fidelity Wireframes

Bringing Ideas to Life: From Wireframes to High-Fidelity Designs

Once the brand identity was in place, I created low-fidelity wireframes to generally map out the page structure and flow. This step helped me prioritize the most important sections — like the about story, the contact information, and the company's mission — and ensure visitors could easily find what they were looking for. The wireframes gave me a clear blueprint to build on and made it easier to spot any layout issues early on.

With the wireframes as a guide, I moved into high-fidelity design in Figma. I brought in the final colors, fonts, and imagery to create a polished prototype that felt close to the finished product. This phase allowed me to test the visual balance, refine the user experience, and share the design with others for feedback before jumping into development.

Final steps

Design to development

Finally, I translated the prototype into a fully coded site using HTML and CSS. I focused on building a responsive layout that looks great on both desktop and mobile, paying close attention to details like spacing, typography, and smooth transitions between sections. Writing clean, well-organized code was important to me, both for maintainability and for delivering a fast, seamless experience to users.
